Our History
Founded in 1984, Women In Business Network was originally known as Marge McGowan Personnel Agency. By 1990, McGowan felt it was time to rename the company to reflect her particular specialty - connecting women (and men, too) through the power of networking for advancement in the workplace. Today, McGowan's placement firm is referred to as the "Boutique of Agencies," with many job openings throughout New York City and the surrounding boroughs.

Our Founder & President
As a women business-owner and a certified personnel consultant for over 16 years, Marge McGowan has become a well-known and trusted leader among staffing firms today. Her specialty is matchmaking in the business place - creating happy, long-lasting and valuable relationships between clients and candidates. She is also known as a promotional pioneer for introducing official networking parties and events, including the ingenious - and now well known - launch of using trendy nightspots for trade shows. As a result, Women In Business Network is one of the most sought after firms by both candidates and client companies.

In addition, Marge, who received her accreditation from New York University, was also recently named president of Association of Personnel Consultants of New York (APCNY). She is an active member of the National Association of Women Business Owners (NAWBO), Professional Women In Construction (PWC) and the Women President's Educational Organization (WPEO), and is a faculty member of the American Women's Economic Development Corporation (AWED).
